Campaigns We Loved: Bask & Lather Live

New York based Hair care brand Bask & Lather runs a thriving live event series covering sales, promos, and new products. They do a great job focusing on building fun engagement with their devoted customer following:

SuperBonsai's Super Recovery is a modern hangover remedy rooted in ancient Asian ingredients. With an engaged Instagram community and influencer partnerships, they had an amazing base for distribution. But they didn’t own it.

Right before their Amazon launch, SuperBonsai decided it was time to build their Postscript list, so they turned to HiTide for help.

The Strategies

SuperBonsai crafted a cheeky, on-brand giveaway using HiTide's Instagram DM automation. They posted engaging carousel and Reel content, offering a $300 Amazon gift card and Super Recovery product as prizes.

Instead of the typical "link in bio" approach, they prompted users to tag friends in the comments. This triggered a DM from SuperBonsai, inviting participants to enter their phone number. HiTide's seamless Postscript integration then converted these conversations into SMS subscribers.

Using comment-based entry boosted post distribution and social proof. The conversational DM flow felt fresh and personal, perfectly matching SuperBonsai's brand voice.

The Results

SuperBonsai's campaign achieved huge organic reach, engaging 318K accounts - an impressive 63X their follower count at the time. Over 1,300 people commented, triggering a DM exchange.

In just a few days, SuperBonsai collected more than 700 phone numbers at a remarkably low cost of $0.24 per new subscriber, even before accounting for downstream sales.
